A Little Easter Treat....

These are the little Easter treats that I made for each member of  my household this year:

It's an Easter card with a little surprise inside.  The crosses were cut out of an old Bible (which met with an unfortunate accident some time ago). The hill was cut from patterned paper.  The background was made by scribbling with watercolour crayons onto sketch paper and then brushing over with some water to blend the colours (such fun!)

Excuse the quality of the photos - I dont know what is going on with this camera lately!!!

Inside is a little chocolate Lamb........

And an inspirational verse.....

I hope they will enjoy them!!!

Have a really happy Easter Sunday.  He is Risen!!!!!
much love

Art Journaling 12/52: EXPRESSION

This week : the 12th week of 2013 our Art Journal Challenge word was                   EXPRESSION

Here's my page:

I covered my background with patterned papers, text from old books & pieces of sheet music .
I stamped onto the background with white gesso - butterflies and blocks.  I painted a block on the right hand page with gesso to do my drawing on..  I added alphabet stickers for the word EXPRESSION.
The quote was printed on the PC and glued to the page (right hand page).
I drew on the singing bird and coloured it with Inktense watercolour pencils.  I outlined my drawing with a black Sharpie marker and also added some doodles and some journaling on both pages.
The colours I used on these pages was way out of my comfort zone.  Not crazy about the colours.

Here are some close-ups for detail:

Wishing you all a very happy and creative long-weekend

A New Project : SPCA fundraising

What am I doing with this weird mix of wools you ask?  Well this is what I am doing:

I am making crocheting necklace scarves. Why?  I am offering them for sale at R60 each and I am donating 50% of the proceeds to DUNDEE SPCA.  What is a necklace scarf you ask?

THIS is a necklace scarf :

It's both fabulous AND functional-because it really does keep the back of your neck snuggly warm.  I predict they will be all the rage this winter.
How do I know this - well, sometimes I just know stuff.

What will I do with the other 50% of the proceeds of the sales? - why buy more yarn to make more scarves for you to order of course!!!

Why am I talking like this today?  Because this is how I talk to myself in my head all the time.
DONT LOOK SO SURPRISED - you ALWAYS knew I was a little ODD!!!! :o)

Now order a scarf and support DUNDEE SPCA.
Email me at: craftyad@gmail.com or see my FACEBOOK page (link at top right corner of this page).

THANK YOU!

Art Journal 11/52: Profile

For week 11 of  our Art Journaling Project , Dianna chose the word : PROFILE
...challenging !!!!!.....
Here is my page:

To begin with I pasted  pieces of patterned paper and scraps of  sheet music onto my background. I then brayered over the background papers with white acrylic paint.  I traced a profile photograph from a magazine and painted it black.  I typed out my profile on the PC , printed it out and glued the words onto the left hand page. I cut out flowers from patterned paper and glued them on and also added some scribble flowers with a fine black marker to the pages. I finished with  the word PROFILE using black alphabet stickers to balance out the blackness of the profile painting.
I am quite  thrilled with the end results!

Wishing you a relaxing Sunday and a very happy and blessed week ahead.
much love
Angella

Art Journal 10/52 : Swirl

For the 10th week of our 52 week art journal challenge Dianna chose the word SWIRL
Here's what I came up with:

I made random patches of colour on the background with oil pastels. I rubbed these with a soft cloth to blend them together.  I added white acrylic paint all over the background with a brayer to soften the colours.
Then I stenciled on some swirls with bright colours (acrylic paint). Finally I added a doodle border and some journaling with a black Sharpie pen.

Tomorrow I will be back with some beautiful photos of my HOME-MADE-HOME :o)
See you then!
much love
Angella.

Art Journal : Whimsy

Dianna chose a word that's right in the middle of my comfort zone this week.  WHIMSY.
Now I can do Whimsy - yes I can!
I used one of my favourite mediums - my Promarker pens.  Just love them! I outlined  with another favourite my black uni-ball eye fineliner.  You can see from the colours and the fun scribbly lines that this was pure fun!

See Dianna's  "WHIMSY" page HERE. I just LOVE her faces!
