So Very Dry.....

We are in the midst of a drought here in Kwazulu Natal , South Africa.  Several of my favourite plants have died and many more are looking very sad indeed.  It is so difficult to watch your plants slowly shrivel up and die.  Pray with us for a miracle .... its winter already ... so it will have to be a HUGE miracle.  Let the drought be broken.

     last barely surviving Day Lily..........

                                            favourite shrub -completely dead

    thirsty..........

And here are a few Stalwarts still blooming their hearts out:

 Shrub (cant remember the name)

    Groundcover (unknown)

    Succulents

                      Plumbago

LET IT RAIN, LET IT RAIN, LET IT RAIN !!!!!!!!!!!!

To enjoy some gorgeous gardens HOP on over to Jamie's Studio Garden Hop and you could join in the fun by sharing your garden too if you feel led to.

much love
Angella

Angella, my garden is the same. Fortunately we have a JoJo tank, and there's still plenty of water in it, which is used for watering the pot plants. The water from my bath an shower runs onto the garden. Amazingly, the aloes and pokers are flowering!

I'm sorry to hear about your drought and hope you get plenty of rain to break the cycle. Your succulents are lovely, and I'm glad you're still getting to enjoy those plants that are most xeric.

I hope that rain will come soon. Right now it is very green here but in August things will look very different.

I love how some plants can survive no matter what. They provide such inspiration in so many ways. Thank you for sharing your garden.

So sorry that you are losing your "buddies" Angella. They do feel like part of us.... Don't know what is happening - I live in a rain belt/forest and yet got very, very little this winter and fear for forest fires all this summer. Today the interior of BC, the part that is usually beautiful desert, is being evacuated for torrential rains..... Doing a rain dance for you!!

I so hate the 'D' word....drought. We had 12 years of it, but it never got so bad that so many plants were dying.
We used shower water and the rinse water from the washing machine....it all went on the garden and we carried buckets up hill and down dale to water newly planted trees etc. at our previous home.
We are on tank water, so can't just turn the tap on and always expect water, so I know how you are feeling Angella.
Praying for rain for you......xx

Oh, my goodness, I hope it rains soon, Angella. I sang a rain song for you and now perhaps it's time to dance.

There is so much beauty there still - shape and colour and life that is strong and holding on. I'm sorry that there has been loss there too.

There are so many beautiful shapes in your garden I could imagine spending time with a sketch book out there :)

Thank you for sharing your garden!

Hope you get rain soon Angella. I have seen on the news that KZN is really suffering under drought conditions. Apparently the new dam that is being built there will be ready supply water in April 2016, but I am sure will have lovely rain before then xxx if God will.
