A Few more Doodles.....

My little watercolour art journal is quickly filling up . I am now half-way , having done 10 pages.  I am having such fun with these. I even took my journal with me to the hair salon the other day and did some artwork while having my hair coloured. :-)

I am excitedly waiting for this Art Doodle book to arrive in the post:
It's a work book with various prompts for different pages, styles, techniques....  Yummy!!!

Wishing you all a very wonderful and creative week.

Revamped T-Shirts

Two of  my favourite plain t-shirts had cooking oil stains on them - they still looked good otherwise.  So I decided to revamp them with some fabric paint and stencils & stamps.  I am very happy with the results.....

 The finished articles......

And just for fun here's one of me today , wearing the purple one.....
Wishing you all a happy healthy sunny weekend!

Fun with Flourescents ........

I needed some cheering up this cold, grey, rainy weekend past so I grabbed some Day Glo colours and painted some little sketches on watercolour paper.  The paints I used are acrylic. Outlines with black  PITT artist pens. The first one is called MUSE.....

The second one I did is called YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE.......

Wishing you all a very BRIGHT  happy week.

Colourful Doodles....

I made myself this tiny art journal with some good watercolour paper pages.   The cover is firm cardstock covered with quilting fabric.  I have had fun doodling some colourful little pages all in the same style:

These were all done with Derwent Inktense watercolour pencils on Bockingford 190gsm paper . Outlines were done with various black markers & a gold paint pen on the last one.

Wishing you all a glorious Sunday and a joy-filled creative week ahead.

What Have I Been Up To ? ...

Well, I have been working hard on goals for improved HEALTH.....

Eating a lot more Raw foods:

Doing my Raw Juice Therapy daily:

Spending time outdoors daily and drinking lots of water:

Even went for a short walk - had to take it slow because my knee is still a bit "wonky" :

Trying to get more art done:

And even made myself a new watercolour art journal:

And learning to BE PRESENT and....

Wishing you all a beautiful, healthy and successful week.

Creative Idleness.....

I have been busy doing some more intuitive painting and re-reading Flora Bowley's awesome book BRAVE INTUITIVE PAINTING.   Here's my latest intuitive painting:

I am also busy trying to finish a crochet throw that I started so long ago. It is made with Vinnies Bambi yarn, a blend of cotton and bamboo with a fun hand-spun texture.  Bambi yarn is available from WOOLHOGS .
I am so thrilled with the gypsy feel of this little throw:

I have been doing quite a lot of baking lately. Here's an awesome fridge tart that can be made in 10 minutes with 3 ingredients:
Ingredients:
500ml flavoured yoghurt (of your choice)
1  tin condensed milk
Biscuits for base.

Layer biscuits for the base or crush them and add margarine to make base.
Mix the yoghurt and condensed milk
Pour the mixture onto the biscuit base
Microwave on high for 4 minutes.
Leave to cool
Put in fridge and serve when cold.

It's really delicious!

Then there was this sweet little crochet bunting I made for the veranda/porch to cheer up the bleak winter landscape. (OK so it isnt that bleak - we've had a very mild winter this year so far).

And these are some crochet cuff bracelets that I made as a gift for a friend. Made with e-cotton, hand-dyed in SA:

And then I have been enjoying doing the art assignments for the e-course FACING YOUR FEARS. These are courage cards which I made using toilet rolls:

For a tutorial on how to use toilet rolls to do art click here:  TUTORIAL

Well I hope you have enjoyed seeing all my WIPs (works in progress) and other creative thing-a-ma-bobs.

Wishing you all a gentle, friendly, happy weekend.

Intuitive Painting...Part One

This week in our FACING YOUR FEARS e-course we are experimenting with INTUITIVE painting.  I love this part of the course.  You grab a canvass, schmush some paint on it, no thought , no plan, just paint. Then make all the different types of marks you can on it , use your fingers, stamps, stencils, rags, ice-cream sticks......turn your canvass this way and that..... let the paint drip and run.....
This is a step by step of  the intuitive painting I did yesterday. I went in with no idea even what colours I wanted to use.  I just kept going until I was happy with the results.....
talk about BLISS....

This is just the background.... watch this space to see where my intuition leads me next with this painting...

Wishing you all a happy creative week.
