Week 5/52 Art Journaling

Well, here it is: week 5 of 52 - my art journal page for the week. I am so proud of myself for sticking to my committment with this challenge- and its been such fun so far!
This week's word is "Personality".

Read the journaling on the top of this page to see what my page is all about.

Techniques:  I sprayed the background with Enmarc Dazzles Spray- it contains a tiny bit of a sparkle. As you can just make out in this pic if you look carefully:
I stamped a large star, in gold paint onto the background.  I added funky scrapbooking journal tags (that I have been dying to use). I added the word PERSONALITY in my own handwriting as well as some journaling explaining this page.  I also added a sketchy black border to the page to finish it off.  The image on page one is cut from a sheet of gift wrap. I added a pink chipboard bracket to page one to complete the design.

Today I am also sharing Dianna's page  with you because I just LOVE it:

"The first to apologize is the bravest. The first to forgive is the strongest. And the first to forget is the happiest."

Purple Rain...

It must have been PURPLE RAIN that we had because since then my garden is a profusion of purple:

(looks pink here but its actually purple!)

I must have been subconsciously inspired by the all the purple around me and decided to give this lady, on one of my journal pages, PURPLE hair ;o)

My new FAVORITE quotation:

"Happiness is an attitude of mind, born of  the simple DETERMINATION to be happy despite all outward circumstances."

Gratitude

"Thou hast given so much to me,
give one thing more,
- a grateful heart,
not thankful when it pleaseth me,
as if Thy blessings had spare days,
but such a heart whose pulse
may be Thy praise."

The creative e-course that I have been doing has as its theme: GRATITUDE.  It's been such a wonderful re-awakening to the practice of gratitude .  What a huge difference it makes in our lives when we fill our hearts and lives with gratitude and with the art of giving.  Here is a photo of  our third project for the course which I finished this weekend.  It is an altered board book (pages are made of thick board). It has lots of textures and layers added to it to make it very interesting and unique. I chose to do a vintage theme in cream, pink and green. This is the cover of my book:

"If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, "thank you", that would suffice."
